Communication technologies have been reshaping the human body in a slow migration down the arm. They've run out of body. Now they're reshaping the message. A visual essay about the cost of every medium we've ever built — and what happens when the next one doesn't need your body at all.

A Blog and a Newsletter

I started a blog for shorter writing and project updates, and a newsletter to tie it all together. The visual essays aren't going anywhere, but not everything needs animation and a month of research. Just a thought and a place to put it.

The visual essays on this site take a while. They're research-heavy, designed from scratch, and built to be experienced in a specific way. I love making them. But not everything I want to write needs that treatment.

So I started a blog: blog.terrygodier.com.

It's a place for shorter writing. Thoughts I'm working through, updates on projects like Current, new releases, things I noticed, things I changed my mind about. The kind of writing that doesn't need animation or a month of research. Just a thought and a place to put it.

There's one up now, if you want to see what it looks like: On AI, Copycats, and Prior Art.

I also set up a newsletter. When I publish something new on either site, you'll hear about it. No schedule, no volume commitments, just a note when there's something worth reading. You can sign up here.

Here's how to follow along:

Blog RSS — blog.terrygodier.com/feed.xml

Essays RSS — terrygodier.com/feed.xml

Newsletter — buttondown.com/tgodier

This watch costs twelve dollars. It weighs twenty-one grams. It has told time the same way since 1989. A visual essay about the objects that came alive, the labor they externalized onto you, and the peace of a thing that does what it does and then shuts up.
